My passion for photography started when I was a child. I recall my grandfather, an amateur photographer, coming to our home each year to take our annual family Christmas portrait. I was fascinated by the whole process, the camera, and flash equipment, carefully placing each of us for the portrait. This is truly one of my favorite childhood memories. One year, my grandparents gifted me a brownie camera and I fell in love with taking photos. While in school, I took photography and occasionally volunteered my services as an assistant to a local photographer/photography teacher. While I knew I had passion for photography, after graduating high school, I quickly realized I did not have the skills or knowledge to run my own photography business. Because of this and the needs of my young family, I decided I needed a steady paycheck and joined the corporate world (merchant teller, lending, finance manager and then real estate development). My husband and I purchased our first desert home in 2003 and lived here part time. In 2009 my husband and I moved to the Coachella Valley full time. I began volunteering at local animal shelters taking pictures of cats and dogs to help get them adopted. My love for photography was rekindled. I began taking photography classes, retraining, and mastering digital photography. In 2014, I opened my photography studio in Palm Desert. Since then, my photos have been featured locally in magazines and on the covers of magazines. I have won 30+ Bronze awards for portraits. I continue my education annually attending conferences and classes that focus on improvement of skills and equipment. I currently have one employee that helps on a day-to-day basis with many of the tasks in running a business.
