SBE Lessons Bring Big Sales with Darina Neyret

March 1, 2021 Artist Spotlight

Episode 61: Darina Neyret

In Episode 61 of the Portrait System Podcast, Darina Neyret shares how she blossomed her passion for creating emotionally-moving photographs into a successful business, in a new town, in just 2.5 years, by following the Sue Bryce business recipe.  She stayed on track with weekly in-person accountability meetings with other local photographers, who were also doing Sue Bryce’s 12 Week Startup program. Additionally, Darina connected powerfully with Sue’s teachings on money and money blocks. She is transforming her relationship with money and being able to ask for it because of these teachings and advice a mentor in the Sue Bryce Education Members-Only Facebook Group gave her.

In this blog, you’ll find links to Darina’s websites, as well as some of her beautiful photos, and answers to some bonus questions.

Be sure to listen to the whole podcast to hear more about Darina’s passionate journey with photography and how finding Sue Bryce Education activated her ability to be successful in business as an artist.

Q: What does the Sue Bryce Education community mean to you?

A: I am one of those people that just needs a sounding board sometimes. It can be really lonely and kind of scary when you don’t have anyone to bounce things off of when starting a business for the first time. Even if I really feel like an idea is brewing or some aspect of business is developing in the right direction, it’s so amazing to have this community where you can ask questions and get immediate feedback and guidance. It is everything to me.

Q: Everyone has a favorite shoot – tell us about yours and why it’s your favorite.

A: I genuinely love most every shoot I do, because I love people and getting to know my subjects is a source of great joy. But recently, I had a woman come to me who wanted to celebrate her half Cherokee and half Korean ethnicity and heritage. She brought in these beautiful traditional garments that some Korean relatives lent her and my hair and makeup artist did an amazing job on her hair. It’s really one of my favorites.

Q: What fellow artists in the industry do you gain the most inspiration from?

A: From childhood it was always Liebovitz and Avedon and those guys. Now, it’s people connected to this amazing SBE community like Wendy DeCraemer, Felicia Reed and Sarah Ferrara Edmunds, among so many others.

Q: Where do you see your business in the next 5 years?

A: Definitely wanting to be heading into that six-figure territory!
